Passengers: Claire and Alex
Location: Greenhouse
Date: Nowish
Summary: Hanging out with the temp
Warnings: Will add if need be

Alex didn't seem thrilled to head to the greenhouse, but it's one of the places on the ship Claire likes to spend time in now and then. She misses nature, even if their last stop wasn't all that long ago, and there's something about the artificial lighting and substrate that makes her feel odd. It's as close as she'll get to it when they're in space.

"Anything at home like this?" She asks, vaguely.

"Certain labs." Alex responded, hands in his pockets. "I find this place fascinating and horrifying in about equal ways." He actually had nothing against Claire as a warden. Glad he'd gotten paired with someone he at least sort of knew.

"It's...." Alex stopped, and was thinking. Quiet for several moments. "I can't really put it into words." More like he didn't want to. He'd also been in storage, seen the animals in suspended animation. He wasn't sure which was worse, and he found it horrifying because he could see himself in either state. Just because of what he was.

Alex glared at her. "What about you?" Because if he was being expected to talk, so should she. He was saying nothing, without an answer to his question.

"What's your view on this place. The greenhouse." Since otherwise it could be a very broad statement. But he was quiet, thinking for a bit before he spoke again. "It's fascinating, as they're producing life in ways that I know should be impossible. It's kind of horrifying all the same, and reminds me too much of a lab." A beat. "The animals in stasis in storage also fascinate and horrify me for similar reasons."

"A very optimistic view." Alex commented dryly. "I wish I could focus only on the optimistic."

"Optimistic isn't something I've ever been. Too skeptical and aware of how it can all go wrong."
