Nah, I get the surprise. I'm hoping for minimal 'weirdness' when I get my nicer blankets.

I have enough right now for a nicer blanket, or a set of nicer pillows. I want both, but I'm leaning towards the blankets first. I can use them as a pillow too if needed.

[It'd take all his current tickets, but Alex saw it as a worthy endeavor. He missed his creature comforts.]

I also want to figure out the system by which we get tickets.

[He sneers.] It's probably totally arbitrary just to fuck with us. Last month I got two, this month I got eight.

[He gives it the briefest of considerations before shrugging, frustrated. Some of last month was a blur - withdrawal from alcohol hit him pretty hard.]

Fuck if I know. What does anyone do here all day? Maybe they were rewarding me for being a good little inmate who didn't try to escape like the others. [Yet.]

[Compared to the others, Alex has been a fucking MODEL inmate. It was frustrating, and he hated it. But he also wasn't going to just act out or throw a tantrum on furniture.]

Maybe it's random, and they want us to to think there's some kind of pattern. Just give us more to use against us.

[Jealousy. But then again, there wasn't anything that desirable in the commissary. He shrugs lightly again.]

Why do some people get what they ask for, and some people get something not even close? Doesn't seem like much of a pattern there either.

Better we find out for certain it IS random, which I don't believe it is. Even if it's a person and subject to their whims type of random, that gives us useful information still.
